I like to think of myself as a mostly pretty confident person, but I do have a few huge insecurities that I’ve dealt with basically since my teen years – maybe even earlier.
In episode five of the Boom Tequila podcast, we dove into conversation surrounding insecurities that we and other women face.
So What are Some of my Insecurities?
I have rosacea and I remember constantly being asked by kids why my cheeks are red or what I was embarrassed about. Literally thinking about it to this day makes me cringe. I had braces at a pretty young age, young enough that I wasn’t thinking about what would happen if I didn’t wear my retainer and probably lost it within a few weeks of having my braces taken off. Now in my 30s I’m seriously considering getting them again because I am still insecure about my teeth.
My Advice on Battling Insecurities
Before we can be our best selves and take care of the people around us you absolutely have to take care of yourself first. Treating yourself good will always help with your insecurities. You can go get a massage, work out, or even just stay off social media for a few days. That actually might be the most helpful!
Just be nice to yourself. Don’t let that inner voice point out your flaws. Try to use it to remind and point out just the things you like about yourself. Your mental health is SO so important and each and every one of you are beautiful inside and out.
